Booking Conditions
These booking conditions were updated on 3rd April 2024.

1 Payment
Your deposit should be paid when you submit your booking form. The balance of the fee will be due one calendar month before the start of the course/guiding. If the booking is made within a month of the course/guiding, please pay the full fee on booking. The exception to this is Masterclasses – the full fee should be paid when booking.
2 If we cancel
If we have to cancel for any reason, you will have three options:
Move your booking to an alternative date
Leave your fees with us as credit towards a future booking.
Have a full refund.
3 If you cancel
If we can fill your place you will have three options:
Move your booking to an alternative date
Leave your fees with us as credit towards a future booking.
Have a full refund less a 3% admin fee.
If you move your booking or leave your fees as credit, we will ask you to pay any difference between your original course fee and the fee for your new course.
If we can’t fill your place:
If you cancel more than one calendar month before the start of your course/guiding we will keep your deposit.
If you cancel less than one calendar month before the start of your course/guiding we will keep your full course fee.
4 Insurance
You must have suitable insurance cover which includes cancellation. Standard holiday insurance does not cover for adventurous activities. Both of the following providers offer flexible packages at competitive rates for a wide variety of activities:

We have public liability and professional indemnity insurance to the required levels. This has been arranged through the Vienna Mountain Guides Association and any claims will be addressed according to Austrian law.
5 Additional expenses for Alpine mountaineering and skiing
Alpine mountaineering, climbing and skiing incur out-of-valley expenses, and you have to cover Chris’s expenses too. Please ensure you have read about these on the Essential Info for the Alps page.
6 Disclaimer
Climbing, hill walking, mountaineering and skiing are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. By returning the booking form, you are stating that you accept these risks and that you are responsible for your own actions.
Booking Conditions for Mentoring
1 Payment
Your mentoring subscription should be paid when you sign up for the programme or when you renew.
2 If we cancel
If we cancel for any reason, we will refund part of your fee to reflect the service you have received and how much of your sign-up period is left.
3 If you cancel
If for any reason you decide to pull out of the programme during the period you have signed up for, we won’t be able to refund your fee.
4 Insurance
