Scrambling for Mountain Leaders Masterclasses in the Lake District

This is a new Masterclass in 2027 for all Mountain Leaders. It will give you a better understanding of scrambling within the Mountain Leader remit, and the following questions will be examined:

  • Can Grade 1 scrambling terrain be within the remit of a Mountain Leader?

  • Is all Grade 1 scrambling terrain equal?

The course will cover the following:

  • Personal confidence and competence – how do I know if I will be OK or not?

  • Evaluation of clients' abilities - how do I know when they will be OK or not?

  • Movement coaching

  • Marginal decision making

Venue: meet at the Stickle Ghyll car park, Langdale valley, Lake District
