The original Lakes Classic Rock challenge was devised as a running and climbing adventure, with the aim of linking all fifteen Lake District rock climbs in Ken Wilson’s book, Classic Rock - on foot, unsupported, all in under 24 hours. The round combines 34 miles of running between 15 multipitch Classic Rock routes, involving 70 pitches up to VS and 4300m of ascent. In the original challenge the climbers carried all their climbing kit and food, and went without sleep.

I will be attempting the challenge on 13th and 14th June, starting at 7pm on 13th. I will be making it a little bit easier by having support in strategic places with food, dry socks, etc. I will be accompanied by Alex Jones and Chris Moore, who will be doing half the challenge each, and I will be tackling the fifteen routes in the following order:
Murray’s Route (S***) - Dow Crag, Coniston
